Continue to defy the odds

The Red Sox continue to defy the odds, as they are in serious contention to make it to October baseball in what is a turnaround year for them. In my previous story about them, it was a magical 15-game win streak ride for the Red Sox, which saw it come to an end by the Orioles. Earlier in the season, things didn’t look too good for the Red Sox, with the team firing longtime manager Alex Cora and his whole coaching staff. Sometimes, change is good, and that was maybe what the Sox needed, a new voice and direction for the ball club.

Now again, they came from behind, and their Topps Now card has the story:

The Boston Red Sox continued their hot stretch, clawing back from four deficits in a 12-11 walk-off win. After tying the game in the ninth, 10th, 11th, and 12th innings, Caleb Durbin sent the fans home on a 13th-inning single. With their eighth straight win, the Red Sox became the fourth Club to go 26-3 or better across a 29-game span within a season in the past 70 years.
