Trade deadline is Monday
Besides being the fastest in Detroit Tigers history to get 1,000 strikeouts, Tarik Skubal is also the top pitcher in trade talks as the MLB trade deadline is fast approaching Monday (August 3rd.)
Continuing where I last left off, here’s more of the Team Deadline Needs & Rumors:
Yankees: Actively hunting for bullpen depth and catching upgrades.
White Sox: The league’s biggest surprise; they look elite and ready to contend.
Phillies: A major wildcard with everyone watching their next move.
Mets: Disappointing season means they will likely look to sell.
Brewers: Reported that they are willing to absorb all of Tarik Skubal’s salary.
Red Sox: They are a surprise this season and are in the Wild Card.
Twins: Making moves for pitching and areas of need.
Rays: Never count them out; they use the “Moneyball” method very well.
Dodgers: The team to beat.
Braves: Always looking as they are in the driver’s seat.
Astros: Another surprise this season.
Guardians: They want to hold onto the last AL Wild Card spot and improve.
Cubs: Upgrades and also in the Wild Card.
Diamondbacks: They have a Wild Card spot and want to hold it.
We will just have to wait and see which front offices emerge as the true movers and shakers at this year’s deadline.
